Lots of water at Iguazu and Tigre

Iguazu really is one of the sights you have to see while you are in Argentina. It is difficult to describe in words how amazing these waterfalls are and even the pictures do not give justice for its beauty. In total the falls stretch for more than 2km and it is simply astounding to watch thousands of cubic meters of water per second to plunge down as much as 80m!

If you ever happen to go there I can really recommend a boat tour that takes you close and even underneath the falls. Be prepared for a shower and do not think that your waterproof gear can protect you from getting soaked!  :-)

After Iguazu we were ready to experience even more water. So after a quick stopover in Buenos Aires we went to the city of Tigre and its surrounding delta. It is a popular weekend destination – especially for people who have money and can afford a summer house there. The water is latte-colored and the local stilt houses and colonial mansions have a special atmosphere. It really was relaxing and beautiful to walk on the peaceful trails after a hectic day in Buenos Aires. Just what we needed...
